Commercial Cleanup following Hurricane Sally in Mobile, AL

Hurricane Sally rolled through our area bringing with it days of rain and heavy winds.  Local businesses and residents throughout the greater Mobile area were affected.  Our Storm Team is always ready to react when these types of catastrophic events occur.  We mobilized our crews and hit the ground running.  As part of the SERVPRO Disaster Recovery Network, we have traveled all over the country to help those impacted by natural disasters.  We are proud to be able to help those within in our own community during this time.  In this photo you can see our teams working through the night to help a commercial client in downtown Mobile that suffered water damage due to rising waters and pounding rain.

Night Out for Storm Team in Lake Charles, LA

After being in Lake Charles and working non-stop, nearly around the clock, our team finally got a much needed break.  It wasn't long, but they got a few hours off in the evening to clean up and go sit down for a nice meal.  Our Storm Team crews have been in Louisiana for a month now, helping victims of Hurricane Laura.  Even as Hurricane Sally impacted their own homes, they continued to push forward and focus on those needing their help.  Unfortunately, the relief crews that they were waiting on got tied up at home helping with Hurricane Sally clean up!  We are so proud of all of our dedicated Storm Team members and thankful for all of the hard work they do each day!

Storm Team Makes New Friends in St. Louis, MO

When it comes to storm recovery, SERVPRO of Mobile County is always here to help.  As one of the storm teams that make up the SERVPRO Disaster Recovery Network, we are always ready to head out at a moments notice to help those affected by natural disasters.  Recently our crews traveled to St. Louis, MO to help those affected by flooding.  While we are on storm, one of the best parts of the job is all of the new connections we get to create.  We enter people's home as strangers and along the way, we become friends with both the two legged and four legged family members.  This guy is Chester and he followed us around for the entire time we were on-site, making sure we took good care of his humans and their home.

Storm Damage in Kansas City, MO

When it comes to water damage there are 3 categories of water depending on the amount of contaminants that may be present.  Category 1 or "clean" water, doesn't pose a health threat.  Category 2 or "grey water" has some level of contaminants present and may harmful to humans.  Category 3 or "black water" is grossly contaminated and may contain bacteria, bloodborne pathogens and chemicals.  Due to the areas flood waters flow across during a catastrophic event, they are considered Category 3 due to the contaminants they may pick up along the way.  Affected material must be removed.  Since drywall often absorbs and "wicks up" water, it must be removed.  Cuts are made at 2 feet or 4 feet depending upon the levels of the floodwaters.  In this photo, you can see the basement of a home that was damaged during the 2018 floods in Kansas City, Missouri.

Tropical Storm Cristobal in Mobile, AL

When it comes to emergency water damage cleanup, nothing can stop us from taking care of our customers.  Even with Tropical Storm Cristobal bearing down on us, we answer the call of customers.  Our teams received many late night calls as Cristobal made landfall along the coast of Louisiana.  Despite being hundreds of miles from the center of the storm, we took a severe pounding from rain bands that left many low lying areas with minor flooding.  Our crews worked through the night to clean up damage from leaking roofs and rising water. At SERVPRO of Mobile County, we will always be Here to Help whenever you need us!

Cleaning Up and Making Friends in Cincinnati, OH

As part of the SERVPRO network of franchises that make up the Disaster Recovery Network, we are always ready to go wherever we may be needed to help those affected by natural disasters.  Recently, SERVPRO of Mobile County's storm team was dispatched to the Cincinnati area to help with cleanup efforts following epic flooding.  We love going on storm because we are able to help so many people begin putting the pieces back together after a catastrophic event.  It is about more than the mitigation work though.  We are in their homes everyday.  We get to know them, their families and even their pets!  We don't just clean homes, we make friends and that is one of the most rewarding parts of our job!
